"In the arena of contemporary sculpture, he can be associated with others who work with materials in their own terms, such as Serra, Rückriem, Spagnulo, and above Chillida, a master who is the rigueur for any Spanish artist, a prototype for anyone who wishes to make his work a primeval location. Casanovas presents two major figures of conscience. A telluric and geological imagery, an attempt to reach the maximum identity between his works and the natural landscape from which they are born and to which, in their essence, they return. Otherwise, as a result of its archaelogical spirit, the work seems to emerge as an anthropic, atavic motif, delivered from the heart of the earth after a process that has in part already incorporated it into the natural world. This is a dual, but not divergent, interpretation."
